Cell phone numbers go public October 2008!

All cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing companies in October 2008 and you will start to receive sale calls unless you register by phone or online.

To Register Online Click Here

YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THESE CALLS. To prevent this, call the following number from your cell phone: 888-382-1222.

It is the National DO NOT CALL list. It will only take a minute of your time. It blocks your number forever now. You must call from the cell phone number you want to have blocked. You cannot call from a different phone number

The National Do Not Call Registry is managed by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency.

Do Not Call Registrations Are Now Permanent and Telemarketers Pay Fees to Access The Registry Set

Telephone numbers placed on the National Do Not Call Registry will remain on it permanently due to the Do-Not-Call Improvement Act of 2007, which became law in February 2008. More than 157 million phone numbers are on the National Do Not Call Registry.

The Do-Not-Call Fee Extension Act of 2007 also was enacted, setting the annual fees telemarketers will pay to access the registry in fiscal year 2009 at $54 for each area code of data accessed or $14,850 for access to every area code in the registry, whichever is less. Telemarketers may access the first 5 area codes of data at no charge, and certain exempt organizations will continue to access all data at no charge.

Doesn't have anything to do with real estate, but thanks for the important info! The last thing I want to do is pay cell phone minutes for somebody who wants to interrupt me and sell me something. I'm amazed the government is releasing cell phone numbers to anybody with deep enough pockets to pay for them. That should be a crime.

PhoneSpamFilter.com assists the general public in determining which phone calls come from telemarketers trying to sell products and services.

Find out where did the call come from, who else received it and what users reported about it.

The PhoneSpamFilter database now counts over 50.000 reported numbers and growing.

When you get a call from a telemarketer, go to the website and search for the phone number. If someone has already reported the number you can see what they say about it.

In case you can’t find the number you might also try checking it on WhoCalled.US
